Abstract

Abstract

Burnout and limited ability to cope with pressure are challenges faced by students living in Islamic boarding schools. This study aimed to describe students’ resilience development and burnout experiences through the Resilient Me program. The participants were 40 seventh-grade students at SMP Putri Darunnajah 2 selected through purposive sampling. This qualitative study collected data through reflection sheets developed based on the resilience aspects of the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-25) and analyzed thematically. The findings showed that students experienced various pressures, including academic demands, busy schedules, peer problems, anxiety, and homesickness. Students also identified ways to deal with pressure through relaxation, positive thinking, problem-solving, and talking to others. Support from parents, peers, and teachers became an important source of strength. The Resilient Me program provided students with a space to recognize pressure and develop their ability to face challenges in the boarding school environment.
