Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Komunitas Peduli Kesehatan Kelurahan Sidomulyo Timur Pekanbaru dengan Menyatukan Budaya Kearifan Lokal

Abstract

Community empowerment is an essential strategy to improve quality of life through the utilization of local potential. This study aims to analyze the integration of local wisdom in community empowerment and health awareness programs in Sidomulyo Timur, Pekanbaru, as well as the benefits obtained. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that local wisdom is integrated into various activities, such as cycling as a health promotion activity, value education for early childhood through traditional games, the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) based on local products, and religious activities such as women’s study groups (majelis ta’lim). This integration strengthens cultural and Islamic identity, promotes the sustainable use of local resources, enhances active community participation in health awareness, and enriches spiritual and social experiences. Thus, local wisdom–based empowerment is proven effective not only in improving health and economic aspects but also in strengthening socio-religious values in harmony with the surrounding environment.
